“MMK” shares another tale of courage and survival as it tells a story about a kid who is forced to serve as a soldier in an armed conflict this Saturday (Mayo 14) on ABS-CBN.
Rasul (Izzy Canillo) has always dreamed of becoming a soldier. But his life takes a sudden turn when he is separated from his mother (Desiree Del Valle) and is forced, together with his brother Roseller, to live with their father’s (Wendell Ramos) second wife.
In a barangay in Pikit, Cotabato, Rasul and Roseller are exposed to myriads of armed men and even children their age who are members of a rebel group. At seven, Rasul is encouraged to join their group, starts training, and learns to fight for the group’s ideology.
After five years, Rasul is about to become a commander. But his mother suddenly appears to offer him and his brother a better life.
Will Rasul ever forgive her mom for seemingly abandoning them when they were young? Will he choose to continue fighting as a child soldier or go back to school to get his life back on track?
Joining this “MMK” episode are Pen Medina, Victor Neri, Jenny Miller, Wynrill Banaag, at Hyasmin Neri. The episode is directed by Nick Olanka and written by Arden Rod Condez. “MMK” is led by business unit head Malou Santos.
